Checks Before Buying a Used Phone
Whether a person or an agent is buying, these are worth confirming before a used or refurbished phone is purchased:
- Device history: check the IMEI or serial number against lost, stolen, and blacklist databases.
- Carrier lock: confirm the phone is unlocked, or locked to the carrier you need.
- Business devices: if the phone will be managed by a company, confirm it can be enrolled in your device management system.
